Our Mission
The goal of Song Scout Saturday is to provide a fun environment
to dance west coast swing. We want to play the most fun music and provide the best conditions possible to have a good
time with new and old friends.
Our History
The Song Scout Saturday dance was started April 5, 2003 by
Paul Booth and Melinda Booth. We are at our second venue, and our attendance continues to grow.
Word is quickly getting around that Song Scout Saturday is
now "the place to be" for the ultimate weekly social swing dance experience! We play music that is FUN to dance to!
Paul and Melinda Booth began their West Coast Swing dance
partnership in February 1995 at the Bellevue Club, and have shared wcs dancing intensively with the community for the past 10 years! Paul & Melinda dance for fun. We have
day jobs (our residential remodeling company, Booth Construction). We hold a dance only because we WANT to. P&M have been
married since 1972, and have two great kids.

We are proud members of the Seattle Swing Dance Club, the oldest
swing dance club in the country!

Song Scout is proud to be a gold member of the World Swing Dance
Council!

Song Scout is proud to be a moderator of allswing_dj on Yahoo.
This is a group of about 80 of the most dedicated DJs in swing around the world. Every year we induct two DJs into the
hall of Fame at Atlanta's convention in May, giving them "Wetzel Awards". Also annually we elect a "DJ of the Year",
which for 2004 goes to John Festa.
